The shortage of indoor courts in inner metropolitan Perth has become critical, affecting many who participate in sports like basketball, volleyball, and badminton. Clubs are forced to use multiple venues weekly, creating logistical and financial issues for families, volunteers, and staff. Many aspiring players miss out on the community benefits of regular sports. The Perth sporting community seeks collaboration for funding and land to build a new 12-court indoor stadium in Kensington, to be managed by the Perth Basketball Association, to address this shortage and support future needs.
